On 10th March 1906, Piccadilly Circus tube station opened in London. It's one of a small number of underground stations that have no surface buildings.
The Tate Galleries in Britain are named after Henry Tate, who financed the building of the original gallery (Tate Britain) with the money from his successful sugar refining business. When Henry Tate's company merged with Abram Lyle's company the familiar household brand was created.
